Staying active key to quality retirement

Retirement has different meanings to Garvin Berry, Barbara Swiggart and Gloria D’Allessandro.

Berry, 84, a petroleum geologist, flunked retirement. He never went to work because working in the geology field was “fun.”

D’Allessandro, 73, raised her children, then went to school to become teacher. After teaching in both public and private school settings, she retired and started writing mystery novels. Because she was mad at her principal when she left, he was murdered in her first novel, A+ for Murder.
